“Being there for others out of joy and conviction”

A total of 18 trainees from the DIAKO Emma and Karl Hübel Education Center - School for Care Professions and Elderly Care Assistants in Bad Arolsen have now passed their exams as Elderly Care Assistants. The successful completion of the training was celebrated today with a service in the Catholic church and a subsequent ceremony.

"Care for the elderly is an important topic in the current social debate. The discussions often focus on financing issues, standards and the lack of skilled workers," says Pastor Oswald Beuthert (spokesman for the DIAKO management). But today, says Beuthert, people are deliberately speaking positively about care for the elderly. "Once again, many people have been trained to support and help others in old age. That is an important social message: There are people who are there for others out of joy and conviction. That makes us, as those responsible for the DIAKO training center, happy every day."

Background: The new elder care assistants completed their theoretical training last year at the school in Korbach. The practical part was carried out in cooperation with elder care facilities in Waldeck-Frankenberg and NRW as well as the job centers in Waldeck-Frankenberg.

What is particularly pleasing is that of the 18 graduates of the geriatric nursing assistant course, six will start generalist elder care training in order to work as elder care specialists after they graduate. And three of them will even shorten their training by a year due to their excellent performance.
